Eurythmy Lighting Survey

I would be very grateful if you would complete the survey.

Copy and paste the text below into word,  then email it back to me.

I am trying to find out how eurythmists around the world are lighting, and staging their performances. Are there new ideas or new equipment we should be looking at and testing?  But first let find out how you are lighting and staging your performances now.

Don’t be shy, have a go at answering as much as you can

or better still get you technical team to fill it in! hand it back to at Any time during the conference or post or email it to me at the address below. If you want it on a CD please as me for one.

Imagine your are going to put a performance on next week what does your stage look like. Is it a proscenium arch,  thrust open plan?

Do the audience look down on the stage or look up.

Is the auditorium flat or raked.

What colour masking curtains are used at the sides of the stage?   Black,   blue ,  grey      white        other colour? ……..

Does your stage have a permanent eurythmy lighting rig,  or do you have to rig and focus lights every time.

Do you use a cyclorama as a background ?

Is this background ever changed during the performance.

What surface is the floor?,  wood,      what colour? ,       is it varnished?

Is it a carpet?  What colour                 Or  professional dance floor?

What surface and colour do you find works best?

Indicate the rough size of the stage   width,         depth     visible height  ( what the audience see)

STAGE LIGHTING

Do you use a 4 colour ( or more ) lighting wash rig what colours are you using?  If you know the lee filter or Rosco colour code and names that’s  even better. I.e. Lee Filter “Just blue” 079

Is the lighting rig a balanced rig ie. Are all your lights the same power and number for each colour?

or do you run more blue lights than yellow?

i.e. I always run 4 times as many lights in blue than yellow, and make them  more powerful too, each blue light is usually 1000w or more and the yellows are 500w

Have you tried structuring the rig?i.e. so for instance the dark blues outside of rig slightly paler blues towards the centre. Or yellows radiating out form the centre.

Do you ever use gobos patterns or special effects?

 Number of dimmers?

rigging height, = height of lighting bars or curtains.
